When A Pregnant Woman Discovers A Homeless Mother Cat, They Become Pregnant Bestfriends

After a brunch outside the home, she and her husband were driving when they came across the helpless wounded kitten abandoned on the side of the road. Laura’s husband immediately came to the animal’s aid, and they discovered that, in addition to the injuries, the kitty was also pregnant.

According to Laura, who spoke to The Dodo,

“I knew she was in poor trouble, and I felt a bond with her since we were both heavily pregnant. I caught her by enticing her to me with leftover food and wrapped her in my jacket, and we carried her to the veterinarian.

Laura and her husband brought the cat called Dove home after visiting the vet to ensure the kitty and her kittens were safe. The couple sought to find out whether she was missing, and locals told them that she had been a stray kitty for quite some time.

Laura decided to violate her rule and care for the future mother and her kittens in order to find them a permanent home where they would be secure for the rest of their lives.

Dove quickly settled into her foster home and liked the company of her adoptive mother; the two became fast friends and exchanged everything about their impending pregnancy.

Laura explains:

“She followed me around everywhere I went, and she loved to stay outside with me in our fenced-in area in the mornings and let me stroke her stomach while we ate breakfast.”

When it came time for Laura’s baby Kylie to be born, Dove went into labor as well, and when she returned home from the hospital, she was greeted with a beautiful litter of kittens.

Laura was happy to see the mother cat with her six adorable kittens, and she was overjoyed simply to think that she was able to give birth practically at the same time as her.

Laura continued:

“When I put my daughter there with the kittens to help feed them and give them some care when she was 5 weeks old, she began to notice them. My daughter piqued the kittens’ interest as well.

The young cats got their permanent homes when they were old enough to begin a new chapter in their life; even Dove found his forever home, where Laura and her little Kylie could remain in touch from time to time.

Laura continued:

“Fortunately, the mother cat went to live with a friend, so I can still get updates on her, and some of the kids went to live with individuals I know, so I’ve been able to see them.”

Laura is glad she broke her rule of not bringing in any animals during her pregnancy; having Dove around and living with her was a lovely and wonderful experience.
