Adri Rachelle, the creator of Wild Things Sanctuary, has given her heart and home to pets and abandoned animals that no one else wants, regardless of species. The woman is responsible for over 200 animals, with annual costs in the thousands of dollars to keep them all healthy and happy.
Adri is completely dedicated to assisting as many stray animals as possible. She has a strong affinity for animals, and she always ensures that everyone at the refuge is well cared for. She cheerfully makes several sacrifices to guarantee her well-being in order to go ahead each month.
Not everyone would be ready to give so much of themselves, let alone with little means, therefore their work is entirely self-funded, which makes it all the more impressive.
Adri established Wild Things Sanctuary after years of rescuing many creatures in great need.
Adri explained to Bored Panda:
“It became evident to me that this was not a pastime for me; it had been the tale of my life since I was a youngster, and I wanted to make it my primary emphasis.”
Adri’s work caring for abandoned animals is indeed challenging, but she typically views things in a positive light; she never considers it a job; it is something that comes naturally to her because of the deep affection she has for each of her rescues.
She claims she wouldn’t change a thing and enjoys every minute she gets to spend with her animals, despite the fact that caring for the farm takes up every minute of her time, 7 days a week, with no vacation entitlement.
“Animals in need always seems to cross my path, and knowing that I am providing them with a safe haven to recover gives my life a purpose, and that reward far exceeds all the time, money, and misery that working at an animal sanctuary may bring.”
The sanctuary’s creator claims that getting the adoration of her animals makes her feel loved all day. She provides them with more than just their basic requirements, such as food, water, and cleaning the area; if it were merely a mechanical chore, she could do it in a few hours and divert her attention to other things, but Adri values her time with the animals the most.
In terms of the sanctuary’s finances, Adri promises that the upkeep charges are exorbitant.
She adds up:
“Right now, the startup expenditures and the challenge of constructing permanent structures and fences, among other things, are enormous. Because we are a younger refuge, we are not yet well-established enough for individuals to give substantial sums.”
Adri detailed the prices of food, veterinary care, and farm adaptation supplies that must be paid in invoices. She has dedicated her life to the rescue of abandoned animals, even selling her vehicle to save a herd of cattle on their way to the slaughterhouse.
“The average monthly food bill is $1,300. Veterinary care costs vary greatly, but we should expect to spend roughly $10,000 per year on average. The materials used to construct the sanctuary cost roughly $50,000 over the last year.
The woman explains the distinction between her sanctuary and the many others that exist; the distinction is obvious; the sanctuary is not available to the public, which means that it is missing out on a possible source of cash that would, of course, aid in the care of the animals.
Adri believes that the frequent presence of outsiders who come to see the animals is difficult for them; some are in recovery, are elderly or sick, while others are shy or have experienced horrific events.
Adri’s diligent efforts to protect the many abandoned animals demonstrate that there are still people out there who want to make the world a better place for their fellow humans.
