9-Year-Old Dog Is Adopted After More Than Five Years In A Shelter
Seamus, a gorgeous 9-year-old dog, spent five years in the Fresno Bully Rescue shelter in California before finding his perfect home on December 21.
The shelter’s director, Bridgette Booth, calls Seamus’s adoption a Christmas miracle.
Volunteers with Fresno Bully Rescue were concerned that the dog might pass away there without the comfort of a family nearby, and now that he has, they are relieved and sure that they will never forget him.
Seamus will be remembered for his love of doughnut holes, his patience when walking, and his habit of returning to his kennel after a walk with a fresh toy from the shelter’s toy bin.
Bridgette said to CNN:
Although each of our adoptions is important to us, several of the volunteers who were there that day were overcome with joy.
Bulldogs, pitbulls, and boxers are just a few of the breeds that this shelter hopes to assist with the adoption of young. It also keeps up to 40 dogs at once, with many more going into foster homes.
Sadly, pit bull hybrid dogs like Seamus are the first to be put down. Since its founding in May 2008, the rescue center claims to have saved more than 2,500 dogs from abusive situations and county shelters where they were slated for euthanasia.
