Organization Improves Life For Hospice Patients By Letting Them Keep Their Pets

Being separated from loved ones and pets during one’s final years in hospice is surely a big loss. Fortunately, groups like Pet Peace of Mind have done everything they can to ensure that patients committed to this hospice may be connected with these devoted and selfless beings until the very end. This separation can be devastating for both people and animals.

The group is also in charge of finding suitable new homes for the animals after patients pass away.

The group serves as an extension of the hospice’s general purpose to help patients and their families, said Dianne McGill, president of Pet Peace of Mind.

McGill declared:

The program exists to acknowledge and affirm this significant component of the patient’s support network since many patients regard their dogs to be integral members of the family.

Being the one who originally funds said training and the essential equipment, the non-profit organization is in charge of training volunteers so they can take care of the patients’ pets in the best possible way.

Pet Peace of Mind relies on donations from the public for financial assistance, and its volunteer team takes care of the needs of the animals.
