Meet Harry, a little dog who has suddenly realized his true calling.
I’m sitting here watching the world go by.
Harry had always loved hanging out in his family’s fenced-in backyard, but there wasn’t much of a view of what lay beyond. The pickets on the fence were so close together that looking through them was nearly impossible.
But then something happened that allowed Harry to see what he’d been missing all along. The fence was knocked down by a storm, and a new one was erected with a slightly different design.
“There were some openings [between the pickets] when my dad repaired the fence,” Harry’s owner, Alex Mcleish, told The Dodo. “That’s when I noticed Harry peering between the cracks!”
Harry was completely smitten.
By peering through the thin slots, he could see what was going on on the other side of the fence for the first time. What could be better than that? That’s what it is: a fence window.
“I jokingly recommended it to my father when I spotted Harry looking out the windows for a long period,” Mcleish remarked. “When I awoke on Sunday morning, my father was preparing it for him!”
Mcleish’s father had carved a hole in the fence expressly for Harry to gaze out at the world without being obstructed.
Harry was ecstatic.
“Harry had a feeling it was for him!” Mcleish explained. “He stood there watching my father make it, as though he was waiting for him to finish.”
And the wait was well worth it.
Since the window was built, Harry has been practically riveted to that area, watching people and other dogs stroll by with pleasure and a feverishly wagging tail.
Mcleish stated, “He waits there for hours and only comes in when we call him.”
