Senior Cat Loves Christmas So Much That Her Family Gives Her A Year-Round Tree

Luna is 17 years old, and her favorite time of year has always been Christmas, ever when she was a kitten.

Luna’s mother, Shawn Meyer, told The Dodo, “[she’s] usually hovering around the tree, intrigued about the ornaments.” “She never goes after the tree.”

Luna enjoys every year exploring and appreciating the Christmas decorations, particularly the Christmas lights. She’s always been a little preoccupied with the lights, and every year when her parents take them down, she seems a little unhappy.

“She’d look at us as we put things away, as if she didn’t understand why we had to do it,” Meyer explained.

Luna’s parents decided to do something special for her to make it seem like Christmas all year because she is already in her golden years and doesn’t know how many Christmases she has left.

Luna has a unique cat tree with branches and leaves flowing through it, which her parents thought would be the ideal location for permanent Christmas lights.

“The decision to permanently add lights was a spur-of-the-moment decision,” Meyer explained. “The rainbow curtain lights were given to us as a present, however we don’t have any curtains.” After some consideration, I determined we have the ideal location for them, where they will be appreciated.”

Luna’s parents transformed her cat tree into a wonderful location while she rested, and when she awoke, she was overjoyed with what she saw.

“She’s deaf,” Meyer explained, “so she slept through the whole installation of the new lights.” “As a result, she was taken aback. And she appeared to be pretty happy!”

Luna appeared ecstatic to be able to celebrate Christmas all year, and her cat tree is unquestionably her favorite spot.

“We’ve given her every ounce of enjoyment and comfort we can think of, and she now virtually lives in the tree,” Meyer added. “In fact, she loves to eat her meals in it.”

Meyer couldn’t help but imagine a lovely narrative about a senior cat that loves Christmas so much that some magical fairies transformed her cat tree into a dazzling wonderland as she watched Luna in her tree. She shared her story on Facebook, and she’s currently working on a children’s book about Luna and her magical tree.
