Raccoon Still Returns To Visit The Woman Who Saved Him 3 Years Ago

We’ve all heard cute animal stories about how they have this amazing habit of thanking people for the kind things they do for them. Of course, the raccoon in this story is no different; Little Hands, as this little creature is known, was found abandoned on the side of a major highway when he was a newborn.

The young animal was sent to numerous rescue centers and wildlife shelters in the vicinity, but owing to congestion, none of them had room; all shelters were full.

Linda, Nikki’s mother, took it upon herself to bottle-feed the lovely newborn raccoon up to five times a day while Nikki worked around the clock. Nikki’s mother became Little Hands’ adoptive mother when she voiced her disappointment that she would not be able to have grandkids.

Nikki explains:

“She melted the first time she bottle-fed him and he stared at her.” She has always treated him with kindness because she enjoys being caressed. So she formed a relationship with him, despite the fact that she knew she would eventually return to nature ».

The adorable Little Hands successfully overcame all of the hurdles that came his way thanks to Linda’s care and commitment throughout that period, and by the end of the summer, he was ready to return to his native home.

Nikki recalls:

“[The rescued raccoons] are given a soft release and are allowed to dwell under the deck for a while on her property, where she provides food until they can get out and find their own path.” Little Hands, on the other hand, remained friendly with the entire family and was quite polite and sweet to us.”

The beloved Little Hands has been living in the wild for three years, but the charming Raccoon returns to visit Linda and snuggle up with her on the porch of the home for a bit.

According to the wildlife rehabilitator,

“[My mother] has a porch swing outside where she sits, and he would practically crawl over to the swing and sit next to her, just wanting his butt and chin stroked.” She wants to snuggle up first, then eat and leave ».

Linda seemed to be very thankful to the cute raccoon for assisting him when he needed it the most, and he will not stop visiting her to express his gratitude. Linda has taken in and tenderly cared for other abandoned newborn raccoons who have nowhere else to go.

Of course, it’s incredible to witness how the raccoons he releases into the wild return year after year to see their human mothers.

Nikki explains:

“She stays outside every day and waits, and they visit her even when they’re older, and she just turns on and loves it.” They adore her as well; she’s just a mother.”

The tiny raccoons live in the wild securely and happily thanks to Linda’s love and care, but they know they can always come home to mom for some petting sessions and wonderful food, just like their human offspring.
