Dannielle Southon, the founder of Southon Rescue and Central Florida Fosters, took in a small 5-week-old kitten that needed specialist care about a week ago. Dannielle told Love Meow, “She came from the local animal services after being taken in as a stray with some very evident problems.”

Manx Syndrome and other congenital abnormalities affect the kitten. Her spine and tail are fused, resulting in restricted movement in her hindquarters. “While she was still in the womb, her spine, tail, and leg bones were created in this manner.”

Despite everything, the courageous tabby didn’t let anything slow her down, and she was anxious to roam about and play right away.

Minerva, or Minnie for short, is the kitten’s affectionate name. She receives physical therapy to increase her range of motion and assistance with toileting. Throughout it all, Minnie is a true trooper.

Despite her modest stature for her age, the tabby has a warrior’s heart and is usually upbeat.

“This chick is a snob! (Last night, she sat on my lap purring, playing, and living life to the fullest.) “Dannielle elaborated. “She’s also an expert at scooting around and is really quick.”

Minnie is inquisitive and daring, and she is always wondering about what her foster mother is up to.

She insists on staying close to her folks at all times, even while they are in the restroom.

Dannielle made a nest in the bathtub to keep the kitten secure and comfortable while Minnie monitored her in the morning, but Minnie, being brave, crawled out of it to get a closer look at her foster mom.

Minnie is feeling much better now that her gastrointestinal troubles have been healed after numerous medical appointments and plenty of TLC. She has been more active and boisterous than ever after her rescue a few days ago.

She is ecstatic with her newfound energy and is eager to explore every nook and corner at breakneck speed. Her physical constraints will not prevent her from doing what she enjoys.

Minnie has come a long way in a week, and her personality is pouring through.

She doesn’t worry about anything as she plays with her toys and meows for attention whenever she wants it. She isn’t afraid to express her diverse viewpoints.

The former stray enjoys her VIP lifestyle as a pampered indoor cat. “She is a joyful, mobile, and energetic cat who has no idea she is ‘different,'” Dannielle told Love Meow.

“As soon as I go close to her, she starts purring and meowing. These cat springs are her new favorite toy. She is completely engrossed.”

Minnie is a fantastic pouncer who is always on the hunt for mischief. She enjoys catching unseen bugs, hopping like a bunny, and climbing over obstacles with tenacity.

“We’re figuring out her consistency and medication regimen, as well as how much feeling and usage she has in her rear legs,” Dannielle explained.

“As her foster mother, my goal is to bring her to the greatest health possible and then to give Minnie the best shot at a good life.”
