Cristiano Ronaldo Helped A Shelter For Abandoned Dogs In Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo assisted in stopping the closing of a Portuguese shelter for stray dogs that was ready to close owing to a lack of funding. The Real Madrid player won widespread acclaim for this selfless act, in which he assisted in saving 80 canines living in the Cantinho da Lili shelter in the Portuguese city of Gouveia.

Cantinho da Lili received an autographed shirt from the Real Madrid superstar, which will be auctioned off to raise money for the hostel.

About 80 rescued dogs are cared for by the shelter’s manager, Lilliana Dos Santos, who incurs significant financial costs. The future of the animals had been left in doubt due to expensive treatments, maintenance, and cleaning.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo intervened when a volunteer got in touch with his family and told them about the center’s situation.

Local media reports that Cristiano made the decision to assist her by giving her an autographed Real Madrid shirt to be sold at auction.

Correio da Manh, a Portuguese newspaper, quoted Liliana Dos Santos as saying:

“We still don’t think it’s true. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Cristiano. Although it is a small action, it is crucial to us.

The shirt was sent on November 16, but only a few days ago it arrived at its destination.

The funds raised will be used to maintain the pets’ high quality of life in the shelter and to treat some of their illnesses.
