Dog That Was Too Hurt To Be Petted Can’t Stop Hugging His New Dad

This border collie’s first year of existence was filled with hardship. The young canine, then known as Kong, was suffering from a terrible skin condition and excruciating sunburns when he was abandoned at a shelter in Claremore, Oklahoma. Parts of his brilliant pink flesh could be seen through his hair, and his silky white fur was uneven in other spots. Too sore to be petted, he said.

Curtis stated to The Dodo:

“When I glanced at your profile, I was smitten by your distinctive photo and the information you provided. Her adopted mother characterized her temperament and demeanor, and when I briefly detailed my life to her, she said that we seemed like the ideal match.

Curtis, a cyber threat intelligence analyst at a credit bureau in Little Elm, Texas, was concerned that having a dog wouldn’t fit with his active lifestyle, but something indescribable assured him that everything would work out. He then made a request.

He stated:

It seemed like it was mine from the beginning, and these individuals were simply helping us come together. I requested for daily updates throughout the adoption process.

When Curtis’ application was accepted following many interviews and a house inspection, the day for their first meeting finally arrived. Curtis had made the decision to alter the dog’s name from Kong/#387 to ZIB, after a well-known Soviet space dog, to symbolize the fresh beginning.

Corey said:

“The original was basically a stray dog that was pacing the base, which they successfully released into orbit to detonate. This seemed suitable for my ZIB since, until someone found him and took care of him, he was simply a lost dog. He and I are currently traveling to the stars together!”

When the guy finally got to meet the devoted dog at the ZIB foster home, a buddy was able to take a picture of the touching event.

Corey said:

“I received his leash… I addressed him directly, gave him his new name, and invited him to accompany me home. “ZIB, I’m calling you ZIB.” You think so? ZIB, would you want to accompany me home? He hugged me and lowered his head when we were sitting across from each other. I will never forget that moment since he was so cute.

In his new home with his adoring father, ZIB could not be happier. The puppy who formerly endured such excruciating pain that he could not stand to be handled is now showered with hugs and affection.
