School Children Make Houses For Homeless Dogs With Recyclable Material

As part of their year-end project, fifth-graders from the Educational Institute of Zacatecas (IEZ) in Mexico created dog houses out of recyclable materials from household items they already possessed and did not utilize.

About 35 pupils took part in this amazing project in the socio-emotional topic under the direction of instructor Elnora Pea Sánchez.

Each student group’s final creation displayed their inventiveness and originality. The kids were quick to assist the animals in the greatest need.

Some kids made use of bed sheets, hampers, crates, fences, and wood pieces.

About 20 dog homes were created by the kids.

Elnora commended the parents who worked with their kids to build these dog homes as well as the institution’s directors for supporting them as a part of the curriculum.

The homes will be given to Albergue Lazos Caninos, a group whose mission is to rescue and care for stray dogs in subpar conditions before placing them with permanent families.
