“We’re Just Looking For A House That Appreciates Them As Much As We Do

At the age of five months, Maru, a fine Bullmastiff dog, was adopted by a couple from the shelter run by Alla Morozova in Novosibirsk, Russia. Unfortunately, the couple called Alla after six months to say they had allergies to animals and had to take her back to the shelter.

Given the circumstances, it was decided to bring Maru back to the shelter via train, and a helper promised to look after him. However, after traveling about 201 kilometers (125 miles), the train stopped at a station close to Achinsk, and the dog escaped. The Siberian Times reports.

The people Maru trusted the most had betrayed her, the train was too noisy, and she was exceedingly afraid.

The driver was almost knocked out of the way when she leaped the compartment door and kicked the handle.

No one was able to hold her, Maru’s boss phoned the couple right away to report her missing, and they contacted Alla, who asked them to search for her in the Achinsk region but they both declined.

The pair appeared unconcerned, as if they were no longer in charge of the dog at all.

Maru is thought to have traveled on foot from that station to Krasnoyarsk’s industrial district.
