Man Finds His Lost Dog Who Was Stolen A Year Ago

To most of us, pets are like family members, and the sudden loss of them causes pain and emptiness. An 8-year-old Akita dog was stolen from the front garden of Delon Pearson’s home last year in September. The sudden loss of his beloved dog left a huge scar on his and his son’s hearts. However, a year later, Delon found his dog online.

29-year-old Delon Pearson from Liverpool was heartbroken and struggled with the theft of his dog. After months of heartache, he started thinking about getting a new replacement dog. One day, he was browsing the internet when he unexpectedly spotted his dog Missy on the website of Skylor’s Animal Rescue in Dobshill, Flintshire, North Wales.

“It was unbelievable, all this time looking for her without any results and with a search done on Google after almost a year, we managed to find her. We checked the result several times, including enlarging the photo, and to our surprise, it was our beloved dog,” Delon told Bored Panda.

The animal rescue had found Missy a few months earlier, abandoned by her abductors and tied up at a car wash in Manchester. She received proper care and was fostered until she could find new owners. At that time, she was chipped—therefore, it was impossible to find her original owners.

Delon immediately contacted Skylor’s Animal Rescue and after the necessary checks, he was informed that he could take Missy the next day. He was thrilled to be reunited with his beloved dog, but he decided to keep it as a surprise to his 8-year-old son Bradley, who grew up alongside the Akita.

The next day, they drove to Flintshire to reunite with the Akita and the rest sounds like a scene from a movie with a happy ending. Even though Delon was told that it might take some time before Missy could adjust, the Akita recognized her best friend Bradley and acted like nothing had even happened. Tail wagging, she sat next to him and since returning home, she hasn’t left Bradley’s side.
