The Pit Bull Who Was Saved From A Dumpster Now Has A New Life

Knowing that there are individuals in the world who dare to harm animals, especially dogs, a creature that simply wants to love us without condition, makes me very sad.

In the American city of Warren, Ohio, a dog was dumped into the trash as if it were just unwanted rubbish. Given the size of the container, it was clear that the dog could not have gotten there on his own, making this a case for further investigation.

The dog was startled, frightened, and injured. Knowing that she had alternative options, no one could comprehend why someone would have done this to her. She would have simply handed the child up for adoption, or she could have made a call to the closest shelter.

Thankfully, the dog was discovered in time, and she was transferred to the shelter run by the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County (AWLTrumbul) where she received treatment.

Given her malnutrition, illness, and improperly functioning hind legs, it was obvious that the unfortunate creature had not had the best existence. She also had several cuts and wounds on her body, both fresh and ancient, raising additional concerns about the harsh life she had previously led.

As a result, the dog, who they called Phoenix, was rushed to the veterinarian right away to have checked out and have her condition assessed.

Phoenix was found to be free of any fractures after extensive testing and X-rays, and his spine and pelvis also appeared to be in good condition. However, the personnel at the shelter claims that she is very emaciated and dehydrated. Her open wounds are being attended to, and her rehabilitation is being watched carefully. The veterinarian also discovered a fractured canine tooth that required extraction.

In addition to donations for the dog’s medication and treatments, AWLTrumbull has requested further details regarding the event. Investigative teams made up of several officials are working to identify the perpetrators of this horrible crime and hold them fully accountable.

However, there is some good news for Phoenix because it was just revealed that someone generous volunteered to pay for all the medical costs.

Staff at the shelter posted the following on Facebook:

“A special thank you to the kind donor who has promised to pay Phoenix’s medical costs in full! All further contributions will be used to investigate her situation and support the treatment of other dogs like Phoenix that come to AWL.”

Phoenix is making a gradual but steady recovery, and despite having to spend a lot of time receiving treatments, she is still a cheerful dog.
