This helpless dog was discovered tied to a tree on a farm in central Georgia earlier this year, with no food, no bed, and no protection from the effects of climate change. He was kept in these conditions for four years.
His look was terrible; he weighed around 11 kilograms, although a pit bull should weigh between 20 and 30 kilos, and he had bruises to his neck from the chains.
After receiving an anonymous tip, the tale was relayed on social media by Cordele Animal Shelter, which published it along with some heartbreaking images.
The poor animal really needed a new home where he could get the affection he had been denied for so long.
The public’s reaction to learning about the dog’s story was overwhelmingly positive; they widely disseminated it, and the Go Dogs Go Rescue Inc group did not hesitate to rush to the location as quickly as possible to rescue it; they were willing to change his life’s trajectory.
Fortunately, the dog, who was formerly known as “Cocaine,” was promptly adopted into a foster home, where he is well on his way to recovery.
In addition, he has been dubbed “Hero” in recognition of his bravery and fortitude, and the transformations he has undergone as a result of his rescuers’ affection are quite astonishing.
He had heartworm disease, which is caused by a parasite that dwells in the arteries and heart. This was concerning, but according to an update from the rescue group, he is now perfectly healthy after receiving therapy.
The foster mother updated her status on Facebook:
“He’s fantastic.” I put the bed in his kennel and fed him a tiny supper. He walked in alone and took a deep breath. He has a radio and a night light ».
Hero’s most recent images demonstrate his growth. The dog who stayed depressed and tethered had a domineering disposition.
