Most Playful Cat Has Been Waiting His Whole Life For A Home

Julius the cat is courageous, lively, and has the most stunning lime green eyes you’ve ever seen.

He’ll do anything for catnip, and he likes a good cause to pursue a laser pointer. According to Erika Cole, director of Providence Animal Control, he’s the kind of cat that anybody would be happy to have, but Julius has been waiting for a home his whole life.

Julius, a two-year-old boy, was rescued in January after being discovered living on the streets with a severely wounded hind limb. He was believed to have been assaulted by another animal while living outside, but he was discovered just in time. Julius’ desire to run, play, and explore became obvious once he had vet care and began to feel better.

Cole told The Dodo, “We put Julius in his own room with a view – the greatest one in the refuge.” “At night, we let him out into the lobby, and when that got too dull, we offered him a companion, and then even more room.” We even constructed him a catio so he could roam outside safely.”

Julius is highly interested because he grew up as a stray and likes spending time on his own safe patio where he can obtain fresh air. Cole likes his time in the shelter, but he knows he would flourish with his own family if only people would give him a chance.

“We’re shocked Julius has stayed with us for so long,” Cole explained. “We’ve adopted out cats that no one can handle, yet Julius still sits.”

Julius is first shy around humans, but as time passes, he warms up and occasionally requests to be caressed. Otherwise, he is always on the go and enjoys any chance to play.

“He’s extremely amusing and enjoys playing,” Cole remarked. “He’s loving, but he wants to be within arm’s reach, which we don’t mind!”

Julius has been in the shelter for more than a year, but Cole is still hopeful that the perfect family will come along. Local and out-of-state adoptions are welcome, but Cole urges families to meet Julius in person.

Julius would do best as the sole pet in a home, but he would also get along with kittens or small dogs. He would prefer a home with a screen porch or sunroom since he enjoys birding and relaxing in the sun.

Julius is first hesitant around humans, but as time passes, he warms up and asks to be petted. Otherwise, he is always on the go and relishes every opportunity to play.

Cole commented, “He’s incredibly hilarious and likes playing.” “He’s kind, but he likes to be close by, which we don’t mind!”
