Maureen Hatcher, a Florida resident, experienced a frightening medical emergency in early December, and her two devoted dogs are now being credited with saving her life.
Hatcher was having a shower at home one day when she slumped to the ground. Bella and Sadie, her two Labradors, soon recognized something wasn’t quite right: Hatcher was laying on the floor, scarcely able to move.
Hatcher told FirstCoastNews, “I remember Sadie coming in.” “I said, ‘Mommy needs assistance,’ and they left.” The dogs quickly recognized what needed to be done and bolted from the home to seek assistance.
The two courageous dogs can be seen dashing and barking as they went approached a neighbor’s house, yearning for someone’s attention, according to a doorbell camera on the front step.
A woman from the neighborhood may be seen entering Hatcher’s home a short time afterwards. She dialed 911, and paramedics arrived quickly, and Hatcher received immediate assistance due to Bella and Sadie.
Hatcher had suffered a stroke, and she is now recovering at home due to her quick-thinking dogs.
