Donkey Brays With Happiness To Achieve Freedom After 8 Years Living Tied

Leonardo is a donkey that lived in terrible conditions in a Seville town, but now, thanks to the Gaia Sanctuary Foundation’s assistance, he finally understands what it means to be free after being chained for eight years. The sanctuary has greeted him warmly, and the emotional scene of his arrival has been poignant; it appears that Leonardo had been looking forward to his liberation and can only smile.

The donkey was part of a family who lived in social exclusion and had to leave their home due of conflicts with their neighbors. These individuals contacted the former guardian of Osuna (Seville) to take care of him, and the matter was eventually handed over to Gaia Sanctuary.

The donkey brays with joy after being freed by the volunteers and hearing that he would no longer be chained; it appears as though he realizes that he is truly free, loved, and protected, according to Gaia Sanctuary’s social media accounts.

The shrine posted the following on its Facebook page:

«There have been a lot of firsts for him in these first few days. He’s never met so many different creatures in his life, and everything is a celebration. He is looking forward to seeing the rest of the donkeys, as well as being with them. He is also thrilled to see the cows and bulls, pigs, and even the birds.

The life of this donkey, according to Santuario Gaia, has been harsh and perilous. He has been confined for the past eight years, with minimal food and little hydration. As a result of all of this, it causes a variety of health issues.

His eyes are seriously afflicted by uveitis, an infection of the main layer of the eye, as well as an ulcer in his left eye; his skin is in bad shape, and his limbs are covered with scabs and ulcers; and his skin is in bad shape.

In addition, the shrine stated:

“His wounds are mending appropriately, and his eye ulcer is healing nicely. We hope that you will regain some of your vision and be able to properly perceive the paradise in which you now find yourself. Despite the fact that he already knows that nothing unpleasant will happen to him here and that he will have the rest of his life to himself».
