76-year-old woman leaves her comfortable life in the UK to care for animals in Greece

Sandy is 76 years old and was born in the United Kingdom, although she has been living in the United States since the age of 21. Her entire life changed over four decades ago, and she now runs the Magic Mountain Animal Shelter with funds from an inheritance.

Despite the fact that the money she received from her inheritance and opted to put in the shelter has began to run out, the woman wishes to continue growing her animal-helping programs. Ella Sandy now spends £3,000 per month on farm maintenance.

Sandy has stated that her upbringing was not at all like her current existence. Her father was a British Army officer, and her family had property in Norfolk. She recalls not like her country’s class structure since her parents did not allow her to freely connect with others, which is why she migrated to Greece at a young age.

“I sometimes think that coming to Greece was a means for me to break free from a class structure that I didn’t want to be a part of.” Certain individuals he could date, while others he couldn’t. So, thinking back, I believe I came here because I felt absolutely free. He also introduced me to Greeks.

The woman recalls the following:

“I was really awestruck by the beauty.” I’m a visual person, and seeing things makes me happy, so the entire location blew me away. It was an excellent idea because it is a large and remote location. She was a little apprehensive about it. For the first six months, I didn’t even come here. I purchased it and then sat there contemplating it.”

Sandy claims that she gradually learnt how to run the farm and developed numerous skills that she previously lacked. She learned how to do her work by watching others do it, and she claims she has no regrets about her decision forty years later.

Sandy sleeps in a teeny-tiny bunk bed to create room in her room for more pets. Seven pups sleep on the floor next to her, while the others have taken up residence in the living room, kitchen, and other areas of the property.

The lady spends the most of her day feeding, training, and cleaning her animals, who are awaiting adoption by Greek or international families. She revealed with joy that one of her pets had found a new home in Canada.

Sandy goes on to say that she used to paint portraits of the animals and sell them to help with the shelter’s expenditures, but she no longer has the opportunity to do so, further depleting her cash.
