Meet Yulelogs, a rambunctious grey seal that can’t say no to a tasty treat.
Before being put back into the wild, Yulelogs spent his early years at a marine park in the north of England. He’d spent so much time in captivity that he’d grown accustomed to people handing out the gifts.
“Yulelogs was retrieved by the RSPCA three months after his release when worried members of the public reported that he was following people with buckets on the beach because he thought they held fish,” the Cornish Seal Sanctuary posted on Facebook.
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary took Yulelogs in and he has been living peacefully ever since. Male grey seals live to be roughly 25 years old in the wild, but Yulelogs recently celebrated his 31st birthday.
The sanctuary presented him with a unique gift to commemorate the occasion: an ice cake loaded with fish.
Yulelogs was overjoyed, and he didn’t hold back.
“Yulelogs truly liked his birthday cake,” said Georgina Shannon, the sanctuary’s marketing and media coordinator. “It’s also a terrific kind of enrichment for him because figuring out how to get the fish out of the cake involves some thought!”
