When The Dog Realizes He’ll Be Taken Home, He Falls Asleep On His Rescuer’s Shoulder

On his way to see his sister in Dubai on a scorching day, Anand Raman stumbled across a young, filthy-looking dog urgently seeking shade beneath the parked cars in the building where his sister works. Anand, who carried him home, was moved by the scenario.

When the dog noticed Anand, something strange happened: the weary animal ran up to him as if he were a long-lost friend.

Anand had not expected that day to save a life, much less that it would end with a dog, but the animal’s delighted expression grabbed him, and he could not have been more affected when the dog fell asleep on his shoulder.

Anand remembers:

“He approached me with an inquisitive but enthusiastic demeanor, wagging his tail with delight.” His actions are what made me fall in love with him in the first place. We then sat on the sidewalk for a while, and he was willing to take my caresses for a while. As soon as I got him in the car, he fell asleep on my shoulder.

With the aid of his sister and brother-in-law, Anand immediately proceeded to the doctor, where they found the reason for the dog’s incessant reeling: it had rickets in its front legs owing to acute malnutrition. It was, thankfully, curable and would have no long-term consequences.

Anand narrates:

“When I initially got him, he was fatigued, so he fell asleep straight immediately in the car on the way to the hospital.” After all of the filth and grime had been removed from his body, I was amazed to see that his fur was actually pure white.

Because of the dog’s white fur, Anand christened him Snowy, and it took a long time for him to grasp that he was finally secure after all the time he had spent living on the streets. When he initially got home, he would hide in a corner, oblivious to the fact that he had finally found a loving home.

Snowy appeared afraid to be back on the streets whenever Anand took him for a walk, and it took him a long to realize that this would never happen now.

Anand knew it would be a long road to ultimately making Snowy feel secure, but she believed she could do it with patience and compassion.

Anand continued, ”

“At first, it was difficult to make it fit into a house. He sat in a corner since he didn’t know where to go or what to look at. I was always afraid of leaving him on the street when I took him for a walk, so I would let go of the leash and sprint back to our apartment complex’s parking lot. This carried on for a bit until he realized we weren’t going to let him leave anytime soon.
