Activists Rescue All Of The Dogs From A Zoonosis Center In Cuba

Several activists in Cuba used social media to rescue all of the dogs still in the Public Observation Center, often known as Zoonosis, in the Havana municipality of La Lisa.

The activists were able to save 27 adult dogs, 10 pups, and three newly born female canines from being killed at the facilities.

Beatriz Batista, the initiative’s head and leader of the animal movement, stated on social media that despite not having all of the essential circumstances, they were able to save all of the animals.

Last Monday, the activists came early at the zoonosis facility, where members of the Cuban Association for the Protection of Animals and Plants (ANIPLANT) were already there. Nora Garca, the president of ANIPLANT, and Laura Pardo, who is in charge of the organization’s social media, are among them.

In a recent post, Beatriz stated:

“Obviously, there were Zoonosis employees, including” the veterinarian “Flora, who has been in charge of injecting strychnine into the puppies for more than 16 years.”

Despite the organization’s little involvement, the rescue’s credit was assigned to them via social media and journalistic outlets.

ANIPLANT made the following statement on their Facebook page:

«Adoptions at the Public Health Observation Center are now complete. We wish to express our gratitude to everyone who helped, especially the personnel at the facility.

Beatriz wanted to make it clear that the merit of these animals’ emancipation belongs to the activists, not to ANIPLANT. According to her, the group was only on the scene for a brief moment.

The organization’s president, Nora Garcia, has volunteered to assist with medicine and sterilization for the rescued puppies.

Beatriz had this to say:

“For the time being, she and I are in direct communication.”

The lady stated that the animals in Zoonosis were in critical condition, with many in bad health and several dying in the middle of the release. He also indicated that the vehicles they were using to carry the animals were insufficient, so they borrowed the zoonosis vehicle.

Beatriz remarked:

“We informed Zoonosis and ANIPLANT that the harsh capture car was required to transport them. Dealing with the transport’s driver proved to be too tough.
