In The Yard, They Installed A Bird Feeding Chamber, And The Effect Is Fantastic
Wild birds are tough to approach, but photographing them is even more difficult since they flee as soon as they detect your presence. However, for Lisa, who goes by the online handle Ostdrossel, photographing wild birds has turned into a full-time passion.
He even set up a feeding camera in his yard, allowing him to catch wonderful shots of a variety of birds on the go.
Its innovative camera arrangement, which is mounted atop a bird feeder, provides absolutely spectacular photographs while wild birds feast.
His photographic career began in 2012, when he relocated from Germany to Michigan, USA, to pursue his love affair.
He was astounded by the diversity of animals in his garden when he arrived, so he began feeding the birds and photographing them.
The major goal was to send the images to his family in Germany, because many of these species aren’t seen in his home country.
Lisa told Bored Panda, “I’m bored.”
“When I went to the United States, I saw that the birds were more colorful and diverse than they were in Germany. I wanted to show them to my family, so I began photographing them ».
Lisa began with a pocket camera, progressed to an SLR camera, and then experimented with various methods for photographing the birds up close.
However, it wasn’t long before he realized he’d have to create his own handmade feeding room in order to capture the birds in their natural environment.
Lisa stated:
«I appreciate seeing the beauty of birds’ anatomy, feathers, and colors, as well as their behavior, such as how they pose.» The creative process is selecting the best photographs from the hundreds taken every day by my system and slightly modifying them.
He went on to say that sharing the images with others all across the world and seeing how they appreciate and learn from nature is his satisfaction.
Without realizing it, his pastime had turned into a full-time job; every night, he evaluated images and films, with spectacular results.
She has been able to detect unusual and amusing expressions in the animals that reside in the vicinity of her home, which many others are unable to perceive.
Many things that people do not see in their daily lives may be found in the photographs, including exotic birds that have never been seen before.
Lisa stated:
«The most exotic birds primarily migrate in the spring. Every day in the garden, there is a new opportunity to observe something unique. I used to have a red tanager and a pine warbler in my yard. I’m not on the lookout for exotic birds; instead, I strive to find beauty every day.
Your garden has evolved into a special spot. So much so that the birds didn’t take long to rear their offspring, and the feeder with the camera allowed them to monitor their development.
She stated, ”
«The birds have returned, and I can tell who they are by their markings. Count Drackula, for example, is a carrot with white spots around his beak and an extremely unhappy expression.
It has two facilities, according to Lisa: one is DIY, where you have a motion-activated camera in a weather-proof box that captures close-up photographs, and the other is commercial.
The other is a camera from the Birdsy firm that uses artificial intelligence to record movies when it detects a moving animal.
The films, she claims, are kept on her Birdsy account, where she downloads them, selects the finest, modifies them, and then shares them with the world.
Although Birdsy is still in beta, it will soon be available to all users, and Lisa says she enjoys using it.
Lisa stated:
“It’s a lot of fun because it captures situations you wouldn’t ordinarily witness, like birds nursing their young or splashing in the birdbath,” says the photographer.
Lisa’s lovely pastime has turned into a work of art, thanks to her stunning images and unique memories shared.
