Kitten With Three Paws And A Brilliant Mind Comes Back From The Brink And Shows Everyone What He’s Capable Of

A two-day-old kitten in need of care was taken to a local shelter in Phoenix, Arizona. One of his hind legs was found twisted in straw, thus he was missing a paw.

 

Because the shelter lacked the means to care for the kitten, volunteers appealed for assistance. Shelbi Uyehara, founder of Jin’s Bottle Babies, told Love Meow, “I noticed a post on Facebook looking for a rescue to retrieve the cat from the shelter.”

She immediately dropped everything to take up the kitten. The tabby was transported to safety just in time after a one-hour trip to the shelter.

“When we initially acquired him, he was in terrible shape. He was tired and dehydrated by the time I got him home, and he couldn’t control his body temperature very well “Shelbi said.

They weren’t sure if the kitten would make it through his first night with a badly infected leg and hardly enough energy to nurse. Despite his frailty, he gave out a few little squeaks when petted, as if to express his desire to survive.

Shelbi and her husband started tube-feeding the kitten every two hours, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They took it in turns to look after him and did everything they could to rescue him.

“I awoke at 3 a.m. to feed him and was surprised to find him still alive. Overnight, he began to flex a little and was on the rise “Shelbi was kind enough to share with Love Meow.

Over the weekend, they took him to the clinic to get his leg treated. The kitten brightened up, began eating on his own, and purred happily.

He was given the nickname Super Flex “because of his nose markings, which make him appear like a super hero We knew he’d flex on any and all challenges after surviving that first night.”

Shelbi told Love Meow, “He is extremely cute and energetic, and he started purring around two days after we received him.”

Flex was so curious when he first opened his eyes to see that he insisted on waddling around on his three paws, attempting to check out the world around him.

Around the same time, a tiny kitten named Star arrived to the shelter, hoping for a better life. She, like Flex, was severely underweight and needed to gain a lot of weight.

When she was ready to join him, Flex promptly took her under his wing.

Flex’s purrs can be heard across the room as they snuggle through each snooze. “They’re both unique tiny kitties that were born into this world and have managed to survive despite all odds.”

The tabby’s favorite pastime is to look his owner in the eyes with his sorrowful puppy-dog eyes.

Flex is still little at about four weeks old, but he has a big heart.

Every day, he gains more power. To guarantee the highest quality of life, he will need a complete amputation on the damaged leg when he is old enough. Cats and kittens are extremely flexible and may easily adapt to a three-legged lifestyle.

Flex has come a long way and is on his way to living a happy, healthy, purring life.
