Kitten Discovered Outside The Size Of A Little Remote Transforms Into A Full-Fledged Lap Cat With A Lot To Offer

When Roku the kitten was discovered outside without a mother, the odds were stacked against him. He was spotted with his siblings by a TNR (trap-neuter-return) rescuer, but he was the only one who survived.

Shelby Thorpe, the founder of Shelby’s Kitten SafeHouse (in Oregon), discovered his misery and rushed in to save him. Shelby told Love Meow, “When I acquired him, he was literally skin and bones and had eye infections and fleas.”

“He was about the size of a Roku remote, which is how he earned his name.”

Based on his teeth and growth, the small tabby was believed to be four weeks old, yet he was only about the size of a two-week-old kitten. Despite his diminutive size, he shown a tremendous amount of courage.

“When I observed his ravenous hunger, I knew he’d be OK. For the first few days, he meowed loudly, and the only way to calm him down was if I sat with him or carried him about with me “Shelby told Love Meow about it.

Roku was adamant about being with his foster mother at all times and would scream and weep if she wasn’t. After a rocky start, the small boy with the huge voice insisted on having a continuous companion, which Shelby gladly provided.

When he was ready for a nap, the adorable kitty would nuzzle up to his human. Shelby made him a comfortable cave bed with plenty of blankets to knead on. Climbing was a powerful tool for the clinging kitten, and he would make his way to the top of the bed, fighting for Shelby’s attention.

Roku was turned into a new kitty in just one week. His eyes had brightened, and he appeared to be much more at ease. He loved having a posse of plush toys in his cot and all the soft things he could get his hands on. Nothing, though, made him happier than sitting on a warm lap.

Shelby introduced him to a few other foster kittens when he was healthy and able to interact, knowing how much he would benefit from having another cat to play with.

Shelby told Love Meow, “He has evolved into a very loving little boy who puts his entire body into your palm when you pet him to the point that he virtually falls over.”

“Rubbing his face against people and getting back scratches are two of his favorite things to do, as well as playing with his new kitten siblings.”

If he notices a vacant lap in the room, Roku the people-cat will sprint over. He might be the tiniest kitten in the family, but he has a lot to offer.

The lovely rumbling purrs of the tiny love-bug continue to permeate the room. With his loveliest look, he has a knack of enamoring everybody he meets.

Who could say no to a face like that?
