Everyone At The Shelter Falls In Love With The Cat With The Worst Face

Saul was found walking down a London street in the rain in mid-October, visibly wounded and in need of assistance. When a citizen saw him, he immediately phoned the RSPCA, who dispatched an animal collection officer to rescue Saul and transport him to the RSPCA’s Putney Animal Hospital.

In a news statement, Caroline Allen, London veterinary director for the RSPCA, said, “He was in a really sad situation… he had discharge coming from his eyes and nostrils and looked very sick indeed.” “We suspect he was in a car accident because we discovered he had injuries to his jaw, teeth, and one eye.”

When Saul arrived at the hospital, he was sick and bruised, and everyone’s primary goal was to have him medicated and treated as soon as possible. As the staff cared for Saul and he began to recover, they were aware of something quite unusual about him.

Saul always has the grumpiest expression, no matter what mood he’s in or how he’s feeling.

Staff at the hospital aren’t sure if Saul’s grouchy countenance is a result of his previous injuries or something he was born with, but either way, it’s apparent that it’s here to stay. Saul showed himself to be the kindest, most loving cat around as everyone got to know him more – but you’d never think it from his looks.

Whether he’s snuggled up with one of his pals…

… or just happily observing what’s going on around him, Saul’s face stays perpetually grumpy …

…and to add to his snarky demeanor, he occasionally sticks his tongue out at people.

“Despite his perpetual frown, Saul is actually rather kind and friendly,” Allen explained. “He’s doing extremely well after his injuries, and we’re hoping he’ll be able to come to our cattery in Southall shortly to find a new home, since we don’t rehome straight from the hospital.”

Everyone at the hospital has fallen in love with Saul and his distinct appearance, and they know that once he’s fully recovered and available for adoption, the right family will fall in love with him as well.

Allen remarked, “We’re confident someone will fall in love with this glum-looking puss.” “In fact, we believe he has the potential to be a star. We’re confident he’d give Grumpy Cat a run for his money, which is why we’ve given him the nickname Grumpy Cat 2.0!”
